Going to a gig - front row Watch

Just separate from your mates until the end, make your way to the front. Should be pretty easy on your own.

I always go at the front, it's all part of the experience. The worst that can happen is that it gets too manic and security has to haul people out, but it's worth it if it's someone you really like. Just drinks loads of water!

Did this for RATM at DL last year. It a so bad the barriers collapsed slightly and I had to get hauled out. It was worth it apart from the lack of breathing space.
Wish I went to the front for them, they were great

You can still manage to get to the front even if you're in the middle of the queue... people go and buy drinks/shirts and stuff before the gig, so once you've passed the doors, just go straight to the venue room if you want a front row place. I went to see Klaxons second-third row and it's definitely the best spot to be in. Other gigs where I was in the middle weren't as impressive.

Ah, you're like me. If I go with my friends, they always delay and don't go into the venue till an hour after doors open and then just stand at the middle/back.

I much prefer to get there early and then gradually push my way as close to the stage. Being pushed and shoved makes a gig fun although all that jumping up and down stuff is just irritating.

My opinion: say you're going to get a drink or head to the toilets, and just start making your way to the front. And take advantage of mosh-pits - if you time it correctly, you can move quickly forward with zero pain.
    Yeah, thanks for the advice

Why do you have to stay together? Just split up.

Well we don't but I guess i was just wondering, whether i'm being silly, wanting to do that, or whether it's fine and "normal" to do that...

You can't exactly socialise much at a gig... I would do it (if I wanted to go to the front, which I wouldn't but each to their own).
