    Could someone explain Question 7 from here please:

    I know how to use linear interpolation (by subbing in x values to get y, then finding gradient and solving the straight linequation for x+c = 0) but Im totally stuck here.

    Please help,

    for part i) I think you have to use similar triangles ( Triangles PQD and PRA)
    where D is the point where line x=a meets y=d
    A is the points (a,0)

    Hmm I prefer to use the line equation as opposed to similar triangles. Although I still have no idea whats going on in part a) lol.

    I don't know the line equation method, but for similar triangles you make a ratio of the sides, so you have:

    c/(c - d) = (r - a)/(b - a)

    Mhmm but I prefer to use the straight line eqn method as thats what Im used to.
