Does anyone know why you can't buy the beatles on itunes? It all seems a bit bizzare!

Don't know. Probably copyright law. Try bitorrent software.

Disclaimer: downloading songs from the internet is very, very wrong, as it deprives all those glittering starlets of their big houses, audis, hair extensions and jetskis.

Micheal Jackson owns the rights to all their songs.

Now usually for a band to be added to itunes apple just ring up the record company and they say 'yeah sure' and virtually all the artists on there are avalible.

But in theis case Micheal Jackson bought all the songs off the beatles for some insane amount of money and I doubt he's in the mood to be talking to apple.

Could it also be to do with the whole Apple-going-into-the-music-industry thing despite promising not to (what with The Beatles' record company thingy also being called Apple)?

I know there were legal wranglings, and The Beatles let them use that name as long as they stuck to computers and stayed out of music.
