Hi, Im doing my coursework on testing the Youngs modulus of copper and im supposed to have at least 3 health and safety risks but i can only think of two :/
    1. Wire Snapping-
When the wire is under tension, it could be possible that when it breaks it snaps and hits someone. In order to reduce the chance of this happening, I made sure that I was wearing safety goggles to protect my eyes and also made sure that anyone wasn’t standing nearby during my experiment.

    2. Weights Falling-
When the wire snapped and the weights fell to the floor, it could hit my feet or hands. The weights were also heavy so it could be quite dangerous. In order to minimize the risk, I placed a carpet piece directly below where the weights were to fall so that they wouldn’t hit me.

    anyone know of any others?

    Thanks

You'd have to have seriously poor practical (and survival) skills for any of these things to actually happen, though!

Having taught physics for 25 years I've seen it all (and have the scars to prove it)
