I have my test on the 27th of this month any bits of advice for me?

I'm 27 going in non commissioned to hopefully do air traffic control just to try something new.

Maths skills aren't great so would love to know what I should be focusing on?

And any other help on what I should focus my learning towards would be fantastic.

    Kind Regards

I've also just been told the rules for retaking AST have gone from 6 months to 6 weeks. Anybody know how true this is?

Search the forum. The information is out there - but you need to look for it yourself.

make sure you go on the RAF website and do their practice test it will stand you in really good stead in what to expect. in terms of more specific make sure your basic maths skills are up to date GCSE bitesize was where I went. I passed my AST back in October 1st time round too!

Make sure you are doing practise questions to a timer... A lot of people find the time constraints on the tests the biggest obstacle

In the 4 minute maths section my advice would be to skip the formula all together and just answer the decimals and fractions questions you should be able to get about 8/12 just by doing that

With the documents you have to take, which part of the medical paperwork do you take as none applies to me but you don't want to be sent home?

I phoned the careers line today and asked if I could sit ast 2 then the guy stated that I had to wait 6 months from my previous ast. Can anybody help me with this?

Think the time limit destroyed me a little, I was caught up on how I should of answered all of them instead of concentrating.

    Hi
I've had a look at my past emails and sorry I can't find the link for the practise papers. Do you have any emails and they maybe sent you the link.

Good luck with the AST tomorrow, just remember to as you said not panic and I know its hard but try to relax. I put my watch on my desk to try to keep an eye on the time and for me that seemed to helped.

Hey, guys. I have my AST a week tomorrow, going up to Cranwell sunday morning. I was told in the P2 presentation I would be going up on the sunday to greet the staff and socialise with other candidates. The second day, monday, being a day of examinations and returning back home (Cardiff) later on that day. I've been reading various experiences through the AST, which all of the candidates seem to stay there for a few days with interviews? Am I right in believing the AST will only last one day with then booking an interview following a aspired pass in the tests?

    Can anyone help?! Thanks!!
