Id like to know how many years worth of past papers there are for this new AS-module FP1? Likewise, how many years worth of papers are there for FP2?

Also, is it really necessary to do the Solomon papers?

    Thanks!

Essentially, it's only been done since 2009, but the content from the old FP1-FP3(P4-P6) hasn't actually changed to the new FP1-FP3, it's just been shifted around so FP1 can be taught concurrently with AS Mathematics (i.e, C1 and C2 are all the knowledge needed for FP1).

So, basically, if your college is nice, which mine were, they will take the relevant questions from the old past papers and organise them into papers that are relevant to the new modules, which means there are actually over 10 years worth of papers. The only problem is that making it so that these papers are exactly 75 marks is a little tricky.

Even still, if you don't have that, then there are the papers since 2009 and the Sample papers they released when they changed the syllabus (4 Papers for each, Paper A, B, etc). And the FP1-FP3 books from Heinmann have huge sections called Review Excercises which actually have all of the exam questions from 2000-2008. I have found that they are actually the best source of revision, because if you can get through the whole exercise with minimal problems, you know you're ready.

The Solomon papers are usually a bit of sore point. Some people say they are much harder than you will ever be asked to do, and some feel that they are representative of some of the harder questions towards the back of a question paper. I'm with the latter group, and feel that if you can do the Solomon papers, you're pretty much ready for anything they can throw at you. Just don't feel discouraged if you find them challenging - they're meant to be.
