i don't see how guys in skinny jeans are considered feminine,
when guys with large biceps + tit-muscles that wear deliberately tight t-shirts are not considered to be so.

I think it has something to do with the number of women who are on the pill.
Non-pregnant women want a real man to knock them up with their manly genetics.
But women who are already pregnant (and the pill makes a woman's body think it is pregnant) want a nice, safe, gentle, caring man to look after them and bond with them and stuff.
On the other hand there has been a general trend through history away from the hairy cave-ape sort of man to the more civilized type.
Women (in the west at least) no longer require a big tough man with more muscle tissue than grey matter to protect them because financially at least they can look after themselves, and the state ensures most day to day risks to their 'innocence' are mitigated.
In short in a safe environment women are able to appreciate different values and physical attributes from the stereotypical hulk-smash adonis.
I myself am reasonably well built, but I am not a giant, nor am I Arnie.
I have a few chequered shirts and this is enough to be labelled effeminate these days by the more backwards members of society who have failed to catch up with the civilized world, but that is fine.
End of the day some women like that, some don't.
Still wouldn't be caught dead wearing tight jeans mind. -

Oh dear on dear.
I hav no issue with you being White, but saying you are White in the context of this thread which us about appearance naturally links the two together. I am White too, but I do not staple it on all my posts, and wouldn't feel the need to, but you do? Implying that you did it for another reason. -

It seems now that the 'metro sexual' man is what most girls go for. When i was in high school i used to get a lot of attention from girls. Im white 6ft 2 and well built. Now it seems because i dont wear skinny jeans and cry at films im not the desired man. When did this change and when will this fad fade? I thought men were suppose to be men?!
Actually, I disagree.
If I had to estimate, I would say the number is 50-50. I'm similar: 6'3, typical alpha male rugby player kind of vibe, and I reckon about half the girls I meet go for my "type" and about half prefer the pretty boy look.
That's still millions and millions of eligible girls. You just have to accept that there will always be girls that don't fancy you and concern yourself with the ones that do.

'white, tall, well built'
That description is just oozing modesty, I reckon troll, especially emphasis on the 'white' bit, tsr fodder methinks.
It's not like its a particularly uncommon characteristic. Probably over half of my friends fall into that category.

You can't really make assumptions like that based on a small selection of girls you've come acrosslol.
I'm not into guys with 'gay tendancies' but a guy who dresses smartly, generally takes care of himself with a caring/thoughtful nature is definately more attractive then an a-hole who wants just one thing
Hey, maybe it just means men should 'man up' instead of asking strangers to fix their relationship problems on TSR - that they should get out there and make something of their life, who knows
Being gay is only, and only about being attracted to the same gender. Gay men don't have some sort of gene that makes them more fashionably sound or whatever.
People like you who rely so blindly on stereotypes sicken me. -

You're white AND tall? Wow, I'm really surprised you're not drowning in clunge just based on that! (Not.)
My guy isn't white or tall, but he's still a man rather than a metrosexual pussy. Maybe you are just not that desirable. :X -

I don't mind "femanine" guys but manly men are definitely more attractive!

In my experience (well, my own and my friends), girls grow up and start wanting "men" rather than skinny jeans wearing boys. You're time will come again. -

If you're reasonably attractive, not a fat/short-arse, have a nice smile, good banter/attitude then there is no dichotomy, you take your pick..
Some girls will be (understandably) intimidated by big guys it's fair to say, some will find them oafish, lanky, unwieldy or (sometimes falsely) assume certain things about their characters/behaviour - I would suggest that it's up to those guys to break down those attitudes if indeed unfoundedLast edited by Foo.mp3; 18-03-2011 at 11:57. -

Wispy skinny men in skinnies are totally not my type.
I think you've probably just come across the wrong types of girls! -

No they're not a dying breed because me and many other women still like masculine men. If I wanted to date a man like the one you've described I would date a woman.

I despise the skinny jeaned, wimpy femmy men, though it's true that most girls do seem to go for this. What happened?!
Skinny jeans are God awful though.
