How does one make themself appear more confident than they are?

I have a job interview on Tuesday and I'm so so worried. I absolutely have to get the job but it's a group interview, and I have a hearing impairment which affects my confidence a lot.

I recently got a casual job at a local arena, and when serving on my first shift a couple of guys actually laughed in my face because I misheard them. It wasn't discreet, it was really in your face. I felt like chucking in the towel there and then but carried on anyway =/ It's made me feel even worse about myself and incredibly down, I just don't know to boost my confidence when little things like this happen.

I don't feel like I can get to where I want to be because I've got no confidence to get myself there. I'm very much a team player but I'm always afraid of speaking up, especially in new situations, in case I've misheard or if I come out with something completely irrelevant.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cocaine. Just don't tell them about the screen play you've been writing/how you secretly fancy Jeremy Clarkson/once wee'd in your mates play house.....these would not be good things.
