    Oh and another one:

They're making a movie out of The Book Thief. One of my favourite books ever. Good times.

Interesting to see no mention of Chariots of Fire! :holmes: Or Coach Carter, which isn't a great movie in itself but seems to be pretty respected as just a sports movie. :holmes: And a bit questionable there with Escape to Victory as well! :p: But good stuff with Cool Runnings, I found that absolutely hilarious when I was younger.

    Recently watched:

    - Caught in the Web, a Chinese film which was the Chinese submission to the Academy Awards last year. It had a couple of interesting ideas but wasn't pulled off very well at all imo.

    - Tropicalia - watched this this evening, followed by a panel discussion, and thought it was very interesting indeed! I knew/know nothing at all about Brazillian music, but I'll be exploring it a bit in the coming days now. :p:

I love A League of Their Own, and Moneyball. No room for Raging Bull?

I always envy people with good memories. I saw that film twice and couldn't even name one.

    Hahahaha

Despicable Me 2 was quite disappointing. Despicable Me had given its sequel such a massive platform - so many more interesting story lines could have come about, however, I felt UP/IE opted safe by going for a love story. I don't have a problem with love stories but it took up a great deal of the movie and the story itself wasn't very well developed.

The minions can do no wrong, they were great.

    I'll give the movie a generous 7/10.

Brilliant review and well written too! I'm glad you share the same thoughts as I thought it was just me - Helen Mirren, as great as she is wasn't very well suited for the role as Abigail Hardscrabble. Abigail Hardscrabble appears to be harsh, scary, cruel and stern but Mirren had given a voice that was quite soft, smooth and eloquent; I would even go as far as to say that it was a little bit friendly!

I watched The Act of Killing today.

It's absolutely astonishing. Apart from being the best documentary I've ever seen, it's also one of the best films I've watched and certainly the most compelling film I've seen this year.

I'll try and give a longer evaluation after I've gotten some sleep.

Just watched The World's End, it was actually very funny. Great film, might even be the best of the trilogy.

Had nothing better to do today so started my project to watch the IMDB Bottom 100. Starting with number 77, Simon Sez.

Why do you only mention the 76 worse, are you not gonna watch 78-100?

And OMG Dennis Rodman in a movie? Ahahahahhaa. I pity you.

I just meant that there are only 76 that are deemed to be worse, with the 78 to 100 supposedly meant to be a little better, hence they're lower down the list.

Oh okay I see, but I mean, you know, marginally better. And still on a list of the worst 100 something
