I'm starting a detox tommorow (grapes and water only type thing...) and I just wondered if anyone had tried this before? What are the best ways to get through the hunger?Anyone got any tips on how to divert my mind from food?

Detoxes are bad if you are properly hungary because your metabolism slows down, rendering the detox pointless once you eat properly again.

Go for as much fruit, salad and lightly steamed veg as you can get your hands on, and as much water, hot water and lemon and green tea as you like. Strawberries always do it for me, and apples sliced up make nice snacks. Don't do this for more than a couple of days, you'll be poorly babe, but its good for a short term boost.

Oh yes it's a short term boost style thing.I'm trying to get back on track with my eating which has just gone to pot over the last few days....I'll word it this way-three 200g Dairy Milks.

Oh yes.

But then again,I haven't actually eaten a proper meal for the last few days, just the chocolate. Not good.

So yes, doing a detox for 2-3 days(however long I can hack it for) then I'm going to eat properly.
i dont think the point is to ever be hungry though (in a bad, depriving yourself way), you just have to choose what you do eat carefully and make sure its healthy..
tons of green veg is always a good thing; if you eat lots of colourful fruits and veg too its an indication that you're getting a wide variety of vitamins and minerals.
good luck  by the way

maybe its better if you do a one day-long fast (loaaads of water, herbal tea etc) just to kick-start weightloss? my friend said she does that now and again and she's slim. maybe better than depriving yourself for longer?dunno

Yes,that's what I've been doing today.I've not eaten yet but I've had a few herbal teas and loads of water.

I'm dying for a cup of tea and some warm milk though:frown:

I'll see how I feel tommorow before I do it for another day...

I don't feel hungry though which is good!

if youre doing this for weightloss, its a good way to kick start it but only for a couple of days, and then you should go back to eating normally. maybe cutting out fatty foods a bit or whatever but dont eat nothing or barely anything as as soon as you have something out of the ordinary youll pile on weight again which would be harder to lose.

Having a "rice-day" (one mind you) or a "fruit-day" is quite a good way to give your body the chance to get rid of some of the bad stuff. Drink 2-3 litres of water.
You might feel hungry though but knowing it is only for one day will make it ok I guess. Do things to take your mind off food and don't have any goodies in the house.

What are you trying to achieve by doing thsi "detox" and what are you going to eat/drink/do during it?

You're not actually going to acheive anything you want to acheive by doing this. You won't lose weight; in fat you'll probably put it on when you start eating normally again. You'll probably get bored of eating fruit and crave chocolate more!

Eat healthily for a bit (3 meals a day, 5 fruit/veg etc) and while you're doing that why don't you research a bit about health and nutrition? It'll do you far more good.

go to the gym... steam room, running and cross arobics... you will feel sick afterwards...

it's not healthy but it stops your hunger pangs...(not healthy)
Join a gym and go for a total of 90 minutes in a weak.
Dont eat outside of meal times.
If you can, and you may not be able to, eat more often but less at each meal.
So have 4 small meals.
Dont eat after 6.30 on a night in.
Drink 2 litres of water a day.
