Guys just to let you know I'm a qualified nurse now. Woop. I got a 2.1 and I have a job in a surgical HDU/vascular ward. Worth it in the end. Keep at it!

I've never had a placement in gynae but I don't think I'd like it, I find female patients so demanding! I prefer men! Our critical care unit doesn't have any HCA's the nurses literatly do everything, which is why I liked it.

Though I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to live in London on a nurses wage. Have to marry me a rich banker or something!

I know, i enjoyed london i was there for a few weeks on a scheme, and just enjoyed being at the centre of specialist hospitals top in their fields, and in a buzzing city- rich banker sounds good to me, beign a HCA on critical care is kinda boring, no different really, it's HDU so ferreting to other CCU's with blood gas's when the machine is broken, or doing minor obs, bed baths, toileting etc- but as a student i can see myself enjoying it, you really need to know your stuff and i think i'd like that. I'm jealous, I just want to qualify now! Its all starting to get interesting at uni now though, first half was all basic care, now its getting into the gritty nursing care im enjoying it much more

    Fuming...cue a rant from me!

Im due to go on placement in just over 2 weeks and had heard nothing about my CRB check. Was told by the uni its no huge deal right now, they get tonnes coming into the office everyday but start chasing it up come the end of this week, so i did.

Rung the CRB people yesterday to say they had no record of every recieving it. I ring the uni to tell them and where's my CRB? Sat in my file from interview day in the nursing office!

Was only being taken to admissions yesterday, so now im not holding out much hope of getting my placement sorted this oct! Argh!

I'm actually pretty meh and upset about it. =\ because i've wanted to do it for yearssss.
But who knows maybe in the future I may return to it just not at this moment in time.

To be honest that was the outcome from an appeal.
And I might have a break from uni to be honest it has really stressed me out the past two years this nursing course has. I started in 2007 but in a different cohort and had to stop halfway through due to family stuff. Then joined the 2008 cohort hence doing nursing for two years.:p:

I'll probably return to nursing in a few years time definatly I think. =)
I'm just gonna explore my other options first.:p:
