I have two offer from Cass business school, Actuarial Science and Investment and Financial Risk Management.

I really need help as i dont know what to make of these courses. I feel that i won't enjoy the Actuarial Science course as much but may do me more good in the long run.

Also lots of people have lowered offers in Actuarial Science and once again it has gone into clearing so i have my doubts about the course.

If anyone has any information on these courses would be much appreciated.

Im predicted A*A*A (maths, further maths, physics)

I also have offer from manchester for economics but not sure...

Cass is very very good for Actuarial Science, it gives you (I think, not sure though) the most exemptions, something like 8 out of the 9 core modules you'll need to do in order to qualify to become an Actuary (if that is what you want to do). But that comes at a price though; the course there, from what i've heard, is ridiculously hard. Something like 30% of the 1st year in take managed to graduate last year
But don't let me put you off i've seen some of the modules you do and they look interesting. Also don't worry about it being in clearing, they only take AAA students anyway for that particular course.

IFRM is what I do, so if you have any specific question about it i'll try and answer them for you.
Two of my friends who applied to Actuarial Science have received AAB offers from CASS, just because thats what there predicted grades were...so i found that slightly unfair.

For IFRM how do you find the course and how helpful do you think it'll be when finding a job?
Also what is the general atmosphere like and the people at the university?

I'd recommend going with Manchester for Economics. Cass is a good business school but is not very well known at undergrad level. Manchester on the other hand is a very reputable uni and doing Economics would keep your options open (plus it's a respected degree).

Am not too sure about that then, but that could mean if you miss your offer by a grade then they still might take you whereas seeing as how your friends where offere AAB then if they were to miss it then they'll get rejected. But like I said thats just guess work.
For IFRM, the course itself was pretty good and very relevant to what I wanted to go in to the future (Investment Banking, which is what am guessing you want aswell?). Jobs wise, as am in my 1st year I can only tell you what people have secured in terms of spring week. Personally I know of 2 that got GS, 3 inc me that go BoAML, 1 got JPM, 1 BNPParibas and few others that I can't remember. So yh it definetly is still do able to get something but it's obviously down to you aswell. Which other unis have you go offers from?

The general atmosphere it's pretty decent, societies wise not a lot happening. We spent most of our time in the Northampon square campus, but can use all the facilities at Cass in morgate. The people there are mostly international, with this year Scandinavian, chinese and Indians being the pre dominant ethnicities there. But I have met some pretty cool people there, so again is down to you and what you make of your time while your there.
It also has some pretty cool partnership if you do want to go study abroad in your second yr and come back for your 3rd, as am doing.
Ive also got offer from manchester (economics) got rejected from LSE for maths and economics and from UCL economics (international programme)

what percentage of your class would you say are English and whats the boy to girl ratio of your class?
