hi im an A2 student retaking the Britain unit from last year, hoping to get an A and i was just wondering if someone could tell me how the marks are allocated between part A and part B?

I know for one you have to evaluate the sources, and in the other you have to use own knowledge!? HELP.

    What Exam board is it?

I did my History A Level on Edexcel. On my British History module, Part A was ONLY evaluating; contrating and comparing the sources and worth 20 marks - based entirely on your source evaluation skills therefore.

Part B was usuing the sources like this on top of incorperating lots of you own knoledge and is marked out of 40.

Why don't you try looking at the exam board's website and their mark schemes for some past questions on the re-sit you are doing or even ask your teacher for past papers and their mark schemes...they go intro great detail over how students usually anshould respond and where marks can be picked up for knowledge and skill.

    Good Luck!
