Unfortunately I did not obtain a place at king ed's Stourbridge, my grades are 1 a* 6 a's and 6 b's (I am about 15 miles out of the catchment area) I was wondering if I appeal what my chances are of being offered a place?

I go there, I got 8A*s 4A's and 1B (not that it matters) and i really would tell you not to bother, at school i was a brilliant student deputy head girl etc etc but at keds it's horrible they are only interested in making you get A's so they look good and they don't care about the student as a person, it really is like being battery farmed, and it has a negative effect on your grades because everyone is so overworked that they can't stay focused. I live 6 miles away and it takes an hour and a half on the bus and the same to get home, so for you i imagine it would be worse, A levels are really hard, but this college just makes them miserable too, so i would advise you to go somewhere slightly more relaxed like a school 6th form or somewhere closer to home, just do whatever you can to make your A levels as easy as possible. If I could go back in time i'd have gone somewhere else, don't pay attention to the reputation, if you have the ability you will do well anywhere

As above. I got in to King Eds and fortunately turned it down and went to a local FE college. I still obtained AAAab in my A-levels.
