I have applied to both lancaster and Birmingham universities ( Masters degree in Physics)
and have received an offer of AA from both. After visiting both of these universities i am torn between both. Which of these universities do you think are better and why? (for both the universities themselves as well as for reasons specific to the suject)

Don;t you have to do a third of your first year on another subject at Lancaster? That's what put me off going there.

Let me help you. Lancaster was number one (Physics) in the latest RAE 2008 tables, beating Oxford and Cambridge, it might not affect your undergraduate studies much but having top academics and research facilities definitely helps.

But I like the Birmingham campus alot and their Physics department has also a great reputation.
