I am going to make this as short as possible. Pretty much I messed up at school as I thought I'd be going straight into a job with my father which didn't happen, I left school with ABBCCC at standard grade / int 1 and one higher (computing @ C). I decided at this point to completely give up on medicine due to my grades and instead of doing a sixth year at school go on to college. I am currently doing an HNC which has got me offers to study computer science. I know I should of done a more suitable course and applied for a relevant degree but if I do complete the degree in computer science would I have any chance at getting into Medicine?

I think it's certainly possible you could get into med school after acomputing degree. Try to get a really good degree in computer science (ie a first, or at least a 2.1), and think how to buff up your CV in the meantime. And if it all goes tits-up medicine-wise, a degree in computer science should certainly help you find work -including in the health sector, if that's what you want.

Thank you for your replies. As I live in Scotland my fees get paid for me but by the time I apply for medicine I will already have had 5 years paid for me by SAAS so I guess I'll have to pay for the course myself? Also there is a obviously a giant contrast between medicine and CS, how exactly would I justify me switching from one to the other?
