I read somewhere about a 17 year old in central London who had a milk float, as he wouldn't ever have it flat out in the traffic, it was tax exempt, MOT exempt, Low emissions exempt, congestion charge exempt, cost 4p a day in electricity and about £100 a year to insure!

    No.

    http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=1446138

I would explain all the different ways but i think most of it is covered in the OP of that thread...

Basically if you go do a CBT then you can ride a 50 or 125 but having your car license makes no difference to 99% of people...

(The only difference is that if you do your CBT you can ride a 50cc bike forever instead of just for 2 years)

NCB: when my insurance expires at the end of this month and i dont have any accidents in this time i will have 4 ncb...i'll be able protect it now =DDD

Total: i paid 260£ for this past year.
the cheapest quote i have found if i was to renew it with the same car (which won't happen - i'm replacing it soon) is £255, but this is with the protected ncb cost added. :]

right im 19, so if i just pay 50£, then i will be allowed to drive a 125cc bike? ive been reading that it isnt essential for me to take the CBT. is this true?

    NO...

Firstly this is the wrong thread to ask stuff like this. You could start your own thread in future or PM or come to the motorbike soc but as i'm here...

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring...eds/DG_4022430

Unless you passed before 2001 then you need to take a CBT...
