    What I don't understand, is why I'm paying so much compared to other people in this thread. My insurance for the first year of driving was £1550 (for 12 months). I've added my father as a secondary driver, have a low mileage count and relatively high excess (£500). I did have a crash last year but I was not at fault. I can understand the premium increasing a bit as a result of this (even though it was non-fault), but to stay at a very similar price to what I was paying in my first year is a joke.

    My insurance is up for renewal soon and if it increases even further, I'm not sure I'll be able to afford it.
    Ever considered it might be what you are driving or where you are shopping?

    In 8 years i've only ever found that compare the insurance company dot com has come up with the best price once!
