Which unis are the most well known and academically strong for their Physics degrees apart from oxbridge?

I would say:

Imperial ------> Durham, Birmingham, Manchester, Warwick, (You could throw some more in here) ----------> The rest.

NOTE: rankings aren't the be all and end all of deciding what is a good university...make sure the ones you apply to are ones where you actually like the course because you only have 5 choices! :smile:
