It depends on the subject/uni.
At my uni the chemistry department is nice and small(65 people ish). I like it as after 2 terms i'm of a first name basis with every lecturer so far and it's a nice department..
On the ohter hand our psychology department has over 200 people which is a bit much...
Funniest thing was our optional maths sym course which had about 12 people in in a lecture theatre that seats 300+
Although thermodynamics labs on 9am starts get about 10 people going to them, lmao. All the notes are online though but still...

I've had first year lectures with 400 people in them! I thought that was the norm?
Even in second year i have ones with 250 people, 110 people and 500 people (first year class).
