Hello there,

Could someone please check my answer to the following question:-

Express 4sinx + 3cosx in the form Rsin(x+alpha), where R and alpha are constants with R>0 and 0<alpha<90.

I got alpha = 36.87?? (2DP)

I got R = +/- 5??

therefore 5sin(x+36.87)?? :s-smilie:

Hence find the greatest value of:-

1/(4sinx + 3cosx + 7).

I got:

-5 </= 5sin(x+36.87) </= +5

therefore the greatest value = 1/2?? :s-smilie:
