Depends on where it is. £18,000 is much easier to live on in Yorkshire than in London.

Very good. As said before, not many graduates are getting that as a starting salary.

Well, the answer is that it's a great starting salary for someone whose just completed their A levels (and hell, even their degree) but it could be peanuts in comparison to what other individuals in the same role are earning. Getting an 18k starter salary without even having a degree is great stuff but to find out how it really shapes up you're going to want to talk to someone who understands marketing.

My guess is that you've looked at a job and spotted that the starting salary is 18k. If this is the case, most employers -- especially those in a field such as marketing -- will want either a degree or substantial prior experience in the industry. If you don't have either of those, the chance of starting straight away on a salary of 18k has got to be pretty unlikely. Again, you're gonna want to talk to someone who knows about marketing jobs, though. :P

Apparently you should go by you're age, e.g. 21k when you're 21 and a recent graduate. So 18k post A-levels sounds perfect for your experience level, although you may want to rethink degree level study in the future as it makes the salary increases much quicker.

May i ask if your doing any formal qualifications or education along side your job e.g a degree, online course or apprenticeship?. Congrats! I've seen graduates with 20k to 27k but as someone at the age of 18 that is a good salary to be working under.
