Hi, as you can probably guess, it will be my mum's 40th birthday this upcoming weekend, and I'd like some ideas as to what to get her, thanks.

My budget is around £30. The rest I need for other important stuff.

    Thanks in advance TSR.

Yeah making something as said before it always nice, its something she can keep forever and is more personal and touching Could always get something to go with it if you didn't feel it was enough, like a CD of her favourite singer or something!

Well for my mums 50th I made her a scrap book which she loved. It cost me around £15-£20 in the end I think for all the materials, the book and photo prints. She loved it as it was thoughtful, much better than generic bought crap (what I usually buy for her). I started with photos of her a child, then as teenager etc and put in photos of me and brothers as babies, family holidays & her wedding etc. Decorated it and dotted words and poems around in places. Turned out really good, took some time though so be warned lol

i got my dad one of these for his 50th:

I filled it with photos of me and our family, he loves it! Very personal, and if you fill it with photos from her 40th bday celebrations, she'll always remember them.

Use your imagination man. You know your mum better than we do. If you can't think of anything, just go for flowers + chocolates + a silver piece of jewellery or something.
