To be considered for medicine you must have 2 science, and I'm thinking of doing Maths Further maths economics and chemistry. I know maths is counted as a science, but is that option choice likely to win any places at a russel group university?

To give yourself the widest choice of uni's for medicine, you need Chemistry and Biology. Some uni's will consider that Maths and Further Maths are too similar and therefore count them as one subject.

Yes it does thanks very much

So I need to drop econ or f maths to do more sciences if I want to get into medicine.

    edit

Is it viable to have Medicine as a back up option?
