I'm 16 years old, Male and Asthmatic. When I was a child I was overweight and I've lost a good two stone in four months. I currently weight 8 stone 3 pounds, 27 inch waist and I'm about 5.6 ft tall. Am I still overweight and will it still effect my Asthma?

If anything 8 stone 3 pounds is on the low side of a normal weight for your height.

You don't seem overweight and as long as you aren't doing anything extreme, you should be fine. I'm not a doctor, though.

For your height you're almost underweight. You have a bmi of 18.6 anything under 18.5 is underweight.

    Your fine.

Oh and as to whether it would affect your asthma if you were overweight, it could do, but not necessarily. I'm currently 2 stone overweight (though as you can see by my sig, i'm doing something to change that) and it doesn't bother my asthma .....neither does exercise unless i'm running.......so you're alreet!

No you're not overweight, in fact are you not under your BMI? Your current weight won't affect your asthma.

Haha, I am a girl and have similar stats and I am a normal weight. For a guy, I'd say - you need some muscle!
I also have asthma.... don't see how that's relevant :s

I've never seen anything about BMI affecting symptoms of Asthma. I say that as an Asthmatic with a BMI of 17.

Well my BMI is 22 and I'm 5.5ft and 9 stone 3lbs so your definitely not, if your worried google a BMI calculator and work it out yourself, as for asthma I doubt weight causes it.
