Yeah so basically I'm in my second year of 6th form, off to uni in sep. And in the last 6 months I've basically moved so far away from the majority of the people in my "friendship group"; I've really surprised myself. I think it's a combination of me changing and me getting a girlfriend. I just have so little in common with them these days and (i think this is the more significant point) I cant be bothered to make an effort to fit in and be one of them anymore. All they ever talk about is their crappy little microcosm- "such a great night out lolol" etc. Im now perfectly happy just spending quality time with 3 or 4 really good friends and my girlfriend, and can't really be bothered to socialise with the rest of them. I don't mind, I guess its natural. Just thought id share and see if people have had similar experiences?

Yeah I feel exactly the same my "friends" are just competely obsessed about drinking. Nothing wrong with a drink now and then but it's sad when it takes over your whole life. I have totally different interests from them really :/

People grow up, change, move on. Just make sure you are not sacrificing your friendships for a partner who when it ends you go crawling back to your friends and try act as if you are best mates again. I have had it happen a few times and I hate people who do it.

Shouldn't that be if it ends? You never know, things could work out really well for the OP

And when your gf leaves you, you'll be a lonely guy playing countless hours on Black Ops with no social life.

Don't worry OP, it's normal - I'm in a similar boat. The people I hang around with have conversations that consist only of driving, drinking, sex jokes and subtle racism, and it drives me up the wall. You tend to drift apart, especially as uni approches, where you'll meet new people etc. etc. and it'll sort itself out.
