Isn't the course at Birkbeck, 4 years part time? A lot of processionals study there and employers send their staff there for training so the school has a good reputation and connections with the industry. Plus, since it is part time, you can have a full time (or part time) job for the duration of the course. This will give you an advantage when compared to other graduates that went to university for 3 years and held no job or just had an internship. You will not find Birkbeck in university ranking tables because of the nature of its courses. You can find some tables on the latest Research Quality Assessment (RAE). In Management Birkbeck was slightly below Queen Mary but this doesn't make it necessarily worse and especially in teaching quality at undergraduate level.

Full time at Queen Mary or part time at Birkbeck. In one of them you graduate with debt and in the other one you get full grant for the fees (if you meet the conditions) and plenty of work experience if you want.

One offers a typical student life and the other one a bit different.

    You decide.
