Well I'm an S5 pupil, and the exam's less than two months away!
I want to study medicine after school, and am studying 4 Highers alongside English, but the problem is...I got my prelim results, AAAAD. All A1s the D being in English.
I missed out on the C by 1 mark.

Now I could sit and complain about my teacher being utter crap, but I won't. Our year has complained, the year before complained, and the year before that complained to the school, and to the North Lanarkshire council. Nothing's been done so I'm here to ask something constructive.

I want this final A, I need this final A. My question here is: What can I do to get it?
How do you best revise for English? A band candidates - what do you do? Those who got A's how did you revise for them?

My essays let me down (11/25 for each of them) despite me and peers agreeing that one essay was of a much higher standard than the other. I also got 27/50 for Close Reading, this needs to be improved on, but I recognise where I can. But any help will still be appreciated!

So that's basically my question, how do I improve in English? What are your tips for close reading? Essay Writing? How do I improve my skills in both? How should I be revising? Any and ALL advice would be very much appreciated!
