    so if you have offers for 2 different courses....you can't firm/insure them????

    Yes you can, as long as it's two different offers and you're not trying to put the same one for both your firm and insurance. Have you got replies for all your choices yet? If not, you can't choose a firm and insurance at all.

    well both of them are for the same university
    they are also different courses, and when I select one of them for the firm and then one of them as the offer, UCAS Track says to me:

    "The decision / reply combination for this choice is invalid"

    but then do you decline the other offers that you haven't chose as your firm or insurance?...

    Id phone UCAS to check. Make sure youve selected "decline" for all of your other choices.

    It sounds to me like you haven't put all your other ones as 'decline', you've only chosen a firm and insurance. You absolutely can firm and insure two different offers from the same uni, so that won't be the problem.

    does this mean that if I dont get the grades for my insurance that I wont be going to uni this year, since i'm declining the other offers? :/

    You can only retain two offers from potentially five. If you miss the grades for your insurance and they don't accept you anyway, you can use Clearing ... but, if that fails, then you're not going to uni this year.
