Scared to tell my parents I'm gay watch

Hi, basically I'm an 18 year old gay lad and I'm terrified to come out to my family. All my friends know and none of them had any problems with it but something about telling my parents makes me really worried. I don't think my mum would have any problems with it as she is quite accepting but I think my dad and my brothers would have an issue with it.
I just want advice from people who are in, or have been in the same situation on how they handled it and how their parents took the news. Thank you

First of all, well done for coming out to your friends. It is good that you now have that support from them. I came out to my Mum (single parent) and sister at about your age, they were fine with it. My brother on the other hand was not, and still (5 years later) seems to make it an issue where ever possible. Saying that, he has wider insecurities and it may not be my sexuality that is truly the issue.

I'd air on the side of caution. If you want to tell them go ahead, but there is really no rush. Perhaps talk to your Mum in some form about homosexuality and how she reacts to it. If you get her onside it will make things a lot easier. I wish you luck! More than likely that they will all accept you. They should do as they are family.
