It's a well designed website, but it's just like all the other "get rich quick", "lose weight fast" e-book-selling sites. The video is a slick bit of marketing, but anyone can learn a script, however many languages it's in; it proves nothing about the efficacy of the product he's flogging. He's a slick marketeer and I wish him well, but he's not offering an innovative system or even a rigorous methodology. He's trying to shift a product, and at that he'll probably do well -- even without using TSR as free advertising.
Was talking about the main website. It's an interesting read. Some good articles.

    It would put me off.

    Look at this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oudgd...eature=related
Basically this guy wakes up at 3am every day, and spends about 16 hours a day reading and writing various languages, just to stay on top of what he knows so his language doesn't deteriorate.
How the hell does he socialise or work? It's both inspiring and very sad to watch. I wouldn't want to go out with someone like that.

Well, it's certainly possible to be fluent in 16 languages...though it is a full-time job to maintain them.

I'd be impressed, yes. Not attracted to them though just because they could speak 16 languages. Might even be a bit intimidated.

It's more than a full time job. A full time job is 40 hours a week: this guy is talking about ~100 hour weeks. Some of the parts of this video I actually find quite upsetting: when he talks about bringing a foreign language book with him when he's in the car with the family. Or the way he describes cooking dinner or eating with his kids as distractions from his work. It's like his entire life is absorbed by the love of learning languages.

It's commendable, but I would hate that in a partner. Hate it. He's ignoring his family. He stays at home learning languages while his family go to church on sunday without him. it's quite heartbreaking.

Ok, for the sake of this thread, let's say the person was fully fluent in English, Scottish Gaelic, Welsh, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi/Urdu, Persian/Farsi, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Portugese, French and Esperanto.

I'm not asking people whether this is possible, nor is this about me currently, so don't reply with those comments....I'm just curious as to whether you'd find a person who could speak all those languages fully fluently attractive or not?
Well I like European languages, so only be impressed in the ones in bold. I don't count Esperanto as a European language.

Is "socialising" the be all and end all?

I'd respect that guy. He's different from the rest. Much interesting compared to those who have a "social life" and nothing else to show.

If this man wanted to forsake his social life because it wasn't important, why did he marry and have children?

Basically, a whole life balances elements of intellectual development, socialisation, challenge, rest, work, love and exercise. No one element is more important than another!

Nyah, I've seen what you class as "fluent" language_man, and it's nowhere near what I consider fluent so I'd call bull**** and walk off if we go by yours. If we go by mine, I'd be hellishly impressed though highly doubtful because of how hard it is, but it would neither interest me nor put me off.

attractive as long as they didn't start talking to other people in another language all the time so that I had no idea what they were talking about XD
