Overall I think Iommi wins it, his guitar solos are the greatest ever. Listen to lonely is the word by black sabbath. There is nothing better.

Talking about this today with my friends, Josh Homme and Doherty both got a good mention but we came to the conclusion Jack White was our favourite..... Yes, our frees are pretty boring.

White Stripes, The Dead Weather and Racounteurs; the mans a god!

I was just going to say Jack White!

That man, one of the greatest musicians of our time.

Morrissey, with Doherty in a close second.

    Nothing compares to this
I really don't get all the hype about Doherty.
He's mediocre? Or is it just me?

    Ludovicio Einaudi.

Without a doubt in my mind.

Hanz Zimmer is a tres close second.

Then again, they are more like composers. MEH.

there are probably some I like who are even better, but if they dont come to mind straight away then they cant really be a favourite.

The guy can hardly stand up the majority of the time and yet has created two brilliant bands and a awesome solo album.

And his lyrics... :coma: < It says 'Coma' but to me it says 'Drool'

Tom Waits. He has a touch of demented genius that today's cookie-cutter artists sadly lack.

Like the other person said, it is a preference. Some people think his lyrics are pointless, yet I think they are brilliant. Sure he does have off moments and his life is pretty messed up but he knows how to write a poetic song. Not to shabby at guitar either...
