I am a 21 year old student from India in my final year of undergraduate study. I applied for my tourist visa today. I submitted proof that I was a student(college identity card signed by the principal), that I have sufficient funds(mentioned that my father was sponsoring my trip and gave up his bank statements plus his income tax returns), proof of my stay there(letter from a family friend I'm staying with along with his bank statements, his visa etc) AND IN ADDITION TO THIS my return flight tickets to show that I am coming back. Do you think I will get the visa?

I've been told by people that visas are normally not granted to 'single young males' from India, Pakistan and the sorts cause they're afraid they'll settle there illegally. However, I have submitted my return flight confirmation as well so I suppose I'm ok?

Word of advice, make sure you have plenty of cash actually on your person. My friend from AMERICA tried to visit me, because all his cash was in his bank account and they couldn't verify that he had money, he was refused entry! Especially since he didn't have employment, they automatically presumed that he would try to get a job in the UK. Also, make sure you have plans while you stay, e.g. book to go on a few tourist attractions etc, even if they are cheap.. just to prove that you are there for tourist purposes. Again, they said to my friend because we hadn't booked anywhere it looked suspicious because it is expected that a tourist would have planned something to do. Whilst we did plan, we never actually booked anything so they didn't take us seriously.
