Because as it contracts from the ventricles up blood is pushed up out of the aorta. ^^

At half 11 at night, I'm impressed I know what an aorta is. xD

All my notes say is "the wave of contraction moves up the ventricles and pushes the blood into the aorta and pulmonary artery", so not sure of anything further than that. If it's a past paper question you could check the mark scheme?

Sure, by tonight I will quote you.
Even I did my Edexcel A/Ls privately.
    You are welcome.

Sure, I will quote you by tonight.
    Thanks a lot.

    You are welcome.

Well, I gave some article-specific advice above and I would highly stress upon learning these Qns/Ans by Sir V. Redden: http://www.scribd.com/doc/89838095/S...Stafford-Final
Last year, I used the Qns/Ans predicted by him and many qns in the exam were similar to what he predicted.
Also, I will upload some very good notes by tonight that will hopefully help a lot. Those combined with learning the revision guide and reading the textbook will do the job.

Sure, by tonight I will quote you also.
me want too.do quote me as well

My tutor and my teacher, keep emphasising to know the whole of Exercise section and muscles topic thoroughly. They keep Seeing as it's any Olympic year the think a lot of this will crop up. It would make sense, the way these exam boards work.

But its an International exam, not just UK. *Shrugs*

    What do you think ?

    i am expecting :-
a lot of muscle stuff ! (sliding filament theory slow and fast twitch stuff )
due to the upcoming olympic situation.
this leads to aerobic and anaerobic respiration in muscles as well. fate of lactate.
also performance enhancing drugs can be asked,
why are they allowed according to some, why arent they allowed ....
effect of too much exercise and efect of too little excercise.......
im expecting very little to come from the nervous system section :/
