Maternal/Paternal instincts - wanting a baby

Have you ever just wanted, so badly to have a baby right this minute?

I guess this question is mainly to females, but I wonder if guys do also?
I find myself mothering other people such as my little brother when I get these maternal instincts. Sometimes I just cant be arsed in finding a guy and just soo badly want to get a donor or something like that.

Getting pregnant is possibly one of the worst things that could happen to me right now at this stage in my education, and life in general. So no, I don't want to have a baby until I'm married and finished university...actually also in a stable-ish job.

I guess that people feel maternal/paternal but don't think about the practicalities of it all... Personally, I love kids but that's because I've always been surrounded by them, but having said that I wouldn't want a screaming baby right now!
once or twice, its usually started off by really stupid things, like i was looking at an endo-tracheal tube that they use on babies and it just made me want one, the blood pressure cuffs are even better, they're sooooo tiny its adorable, aww i want one!!

To be honest, I have to say, the pain aspect outweighs any 'ahhhh' factor for me at the moment...

Apparently my mum never got the hang of them when giving birth. She always asked for them after the contraction, rendering it useless...once she did get used to it, it was so effective it was slowing down the birth so they stopped letting her have them.
It's a bugger really.

Yes... my friend is pregnant and watching her from finding out at two weeks to feeling it kick just made me go.. "Ahhhhhhhhhh....." And now she's gorgeous and wraps its little hand round my finger... *melts*

babies suck... i only like kids when they are older (i.e. no longer kids...)

in the past and probelry now i think maybe i should have kids young!! but then i really think i wouldn;t be able to cope

I think you always cope, whether or not you think you will or not. You just get on with it and hopefully enjoy it. An actual child is so different to the idea of a child. They smile! And grab your finger!
i always thnk 'if i had a kid i would do this . . . etc but thats just producing someone the way you would want to be which is selfish and not v nice

why not make friends with someone who has a baby so you can have them squeeze your fingers when it suits you and not have to deallwith pooey nappies
or get someone to start a rent-a-baby scheme

Even better... get paid for it... also known as babysitting!

no way would i have any at my age
Yesterday on the bus there was this gorgeous little baby. Her mum was playing with her and she was laughing her head off in that kind of gurgling way babies have. She was absolutely adorable, and I was thinking, "Awww!"

I love kids generally, and I'm always peering into prams and having a cuddle if it's the child of someone I know. I think they're so beautiful. But I definitely don't want one now. So if I get maternal feelings, they're like, "Awww, I want one! (In 15 years time!)"

I want to graduate, get a good job and a place of my own, do "young stuff" for a few years, then meet someone, get married, enjoy being married and socialising with other couples and going on nice holidays for a few years, then when I'm in my thirties, start thinking about having children of my own.

i get maternal about my dog i love her so much lol

i think if i got pregnant at this point in my life i would never get rid of a child anyways but i think id make a good mum (not bigging myself up) i suppose noone really knows unless they have children of their own as you could feel differently about your own!! to other peoples!!
