so i understand that mass is canceled because its on the both side of the equation
    and 2g for being constant....
Why percentage is equal to 2g/gradient
    why its divided by 2g?

I'm not sure, if you plot a graph of v^2 against h, 2g will be the gradient. so dividing the gradient by the gradient doesn't make much sense to me.

It would help if we had all of this question to look at.
What is h the height of?
What is v the velocity of, and where and when?
What is actually going on here?

    no height
no velocity, (where and when? does it really matter?
you see a trolly is released and allowed run to over an inclined plane.the height is measured using a metre rule and v using the lamp sensor technique.
