Russia? North Sea? Eastern Europe? The European Union as a whole?

I can tell you that there are a lot of natural resources in those areas.
So why do we need to get involved in the Middle East? Because Russia shares it resources with the rest of Europe?

Why does your family have a big house? Because people always want more!

It'd be very naive to think 'Oh we have enough oil, let's not increase our capacities'

The progression of civilisation is often at the detriment to others - it's kill or be killed.

Russia has a monopoly on the European oil and gas market (save for the North Sea nations) and so it's better to have reserves for when they turn off the tap. Fortunately, Turkmenistan have offered to step in and help Europe.

Plus, those states have terrible poverty because they don't reinvest the money into the public sector, so they don't deserve to have it.

White people are not allowed to celebrate their history, culture or the contributions by their ancestors. Nor are they allowed to have an identity.

    So no.
Well white people run the world, don't they? Black History Month is established where white people are the overwhelming majority, not an ethnic minority, have the benefit of being born into a free country unlike all those immigrants you push away, have never been subject to being extremely alienated and judged for their race or experienced extreme racism EVER.

How are you not allowed to celebrate your history/culture?? That's what everyone is taught in NORMAL history, etc. There are no special subjects for you because the standard subjects cover everything.

There is a great deal of ignorance over the achievements of ethnic minorities, I do get annoyed when it only specifies BLACK history month, I'm sure a lot of it has to do with just appeasing everyone and showing everyone how multicultural we are. We could easily have an Arab history month, which would show how a lot of inventions/ideas commonly attributed to white people were actually just copies of Arab inventions/ideas ...

You've completely missed the point of Black History Month. Stay ignorant.
There is no point to black history month, not least because nobody outside of the academic and political world gives the slightest damn about it, or when any of these stupid events, annual or not, takes place. International/National Hours/Days/Weeks/Months/Years of Biodiversity/Civil Rights/Human Rights/Anti-War/Whatever . . . it's all a load of utter *******s.

It's not even really "black history" month - just "black persecution" month. I never see articles or academics talking about the old, amazing sub-Saharan kingdoms like Benin, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and so forth, and the amazing works of art that they produced. There is an almost cult-like focus on the history of relatively recent black oppression rather than a holistic examination of sub-Saharan history.

It's kind of ridiculous to have a Black history month, surely it's buying into the kind of racialism it presumably is in some way intended to mitigate, by dividing people up by colour.. imagine the furor if someone were to suggest 'yellow history month'.. all seems a little odd/defensive to assert 'Black' culture/history/import in such ways

'African History' would be a bit more apt, with more emphasis on African civilisational histories and less on Imperial era exploitation/persecution of ethnically non-white groups on the part of white Europeans and their non-white regional proxies

Personally I just study periods of history in various parts of the world. If that period happens to have lots of blacks, whites, Chinese, Arab's whatever. It just so happens there is only so many times you can go over the relatively baron black history, especially given that they left behind so few sources.

OP as some other user said, we learnt about "white history month" everyday in school in history. Either-way, I'd be hard pressed to see someone complain about it.

I can kind of see the point of a Black history month in the United States because of it's history, slavery ,jim crow laws etc etc. Not saying there isn't racism in this country, but government either local or national never legislated that a race was inferior in our history correct me if Iam wrong.

I personally think history is taught so badly in schools in this country, that overall history teaching should be improved The teaching should be broad based, however I would like to see an emphasis on past military victories and the study of our former empire and the commonwealth links we have to this day.it is particulary important to emphasise that indians, pakistanis ,irish all fought and died for this country. While I understand we cannot go back in time, in my view people should be proud of our countries history ,proud to be British and see that everyone whatever colour or religion they are is equal and valued. Nationalism taught this way could help deal with the failed experiment of multiculturalism .
