Stabilisation determination between Hydrates watch

    Ok I have been reading through some of my notes and simply cannot find answers, so I was wondering if anyone out there could lend a helping hand.

    The question is:

    1// For the following pair of hydrates, predict and explain which is the most stable.

    I always do this in terms of the carbonyl stability of the corresponding ketone...take the C+-O- resonance form.

    The more stable the positive charge the more stable the ketone and thus the less stable the hydrate and vice versa
