I received the email for conditional offer holders about applying on the 28th May for accommodation. I heard for some halls you have to be ready before because they go quickly, but on the email it doesn't say what time accommodation applications open on the 28th. So I don't know whether to be ready for midnight or sometime in the morning or what. Does anyone know?

From what I remember the email came with a pdf about setting up your account and the time was there, it wasn't midnight but it was early morning

I couldn't see it in the email but I think I read somewhere it was 8:30am - thanks though!

Also, I really like the sound of Bill Mo but I don't like the idea of being secluded from the rest of campus; do you think this really impacts on a student's experience and how social it is as opposed to living somewhere in the village?

No not really, You will be able to socialise with people in Bill Mo and that should be enough. I don't think people in the village socialise massively across different halls anyway.

you will most likely be staying in A block butler court, if you are going down for pre-season, you will love it !

Is there anyone who doesn't have a room yet? I've reserved one in Butler Court, but now I want to cancel it because I'm goint to live in a friend's house. The university said that the only way to cancel the reservation is to find a student who hasn't applied for accomodation yet to re-occupy the room. If someone's interested, please write me an email at [mod edit: don't post personal contact details - use the PM system]
Thank you in advance

butler court is an amazing hall and i recommend you stay in halls for your first year to have the best uni experience, but if not you can always affiliate with butler so you can still be involved with all of freshers

Is Butler Court in village and if so how much is it for the year?

That's crap, Billmo and Harry French are closer to town, the Village is no worse than any other hall really in terms or reception, it's how the buildings were built

I get decent reception in Falk Egg, in Elvyn and Bakewell the reception is almost non existent whenever I'm there

ROOM AVAILABLE IN LOUGHBOROUGH
I've just dropped out of a houseshare, and I need someone to fill my room. It's a nice 6-bedroom house, close to the uni and the town centre. There's 5 girls set to move in, just need the last room filled.
£80 a week, all bills included (except internet).
Please message me if you're interested.
I'm a 2nd year student and I had booked a room in the foundry (located in town). After signing the contract I had decided to take a year out through erasmus to study abroad in Germany for a year. The contract states that if I choose to opt out then I must find a replacement person to fill in the room.
The tenancy runs from 1st sept 2014 to the 2nd august 2015. 48 week contract with mezzino loughborough or the foundry. 6 bed apartment (ground floor) with a shared kitchen. £75. 95 per week with bills included and a very lovely place to stay in! £20 booking fee needed with £150 deposit.

Do you know what the extra facilities are at certain halls is it just a larger shared kitchen?
