    I dont get how its two sub stores are different? (the phonological store and the articulatory process)

    One is essentially 'on-line' and the other is 'off-line'.

    The phonological store is essentially auditory memory, but the articulatory is a repetition of auditory input to prevent decay and promotes transition into the phonological store.
