    can they go up once your parents' earnings have been taken into account? I live in the North, will be going to LSE but the non-means tested loan was only £4988 which wouldn't even cover LSE accommodation alone. Hence, I choose to pursue the route of means-testing and yet it's giving me the same figure? Can this figure change once I've submitted the application (but still at the point where my parents' earnings haven't been taken into account? They earn about £51k pre-tax, £40/41k post-)

    Post tax earnings are irrelevant.
    You will get no grant but will get a slightly larger loan.
