spend it on something you need? laptop or something?
or, if you don't want to waste it, then just put it away until there's something you actually really want/need. if you can't think of anything now then you'd probably just be wasting it because it's obviously not something you reallllly want. x

Next year's rent - means I'd have money to live off next year as at the moment I don't think I will - my rent next year is more than my student loan so I'm going to be spending the next few weeks frantically job hunting and saving.

If I had 5000 £ I would build ten bio-toilets cabins and 10 summer showers in ten gardens (my one and 9 of my neighbours). After that I would invite one hundred UK students to the garden small tent camps.Local hotel owners would look and angry, cause their chepeast numbers are about 65 £ a day. And I would them, laugh a lot , and give the place for a tent for 5 £ a day. And everything would be absolutely legal. It would remind trip on the nature somewhere at UK.
And all neighbour mini-bus drivers, who often don't have much work, would come and would compete with each other in reducing transport prices to deliver the students to any destinations they would like.
And now I sit and think. Should I again grew at my small garden potato this summer or should I invest some money I've earned reading lectures for external students at small local institute in travel industry. I suppose I may afford to build summer-shower and bio-toilet at my garden. I'm not only young scientific of noble origin I also have a lot of peasants blood in me, so I respect hard labour, and at summer I myself work hard on my land.
Last summer, there wasn't not much potato anyway, at the same time there was a lot of work with it....

The greedy hotel owners would sit , and I would . That's a kind of my dream: expenses reduce for students, part-time salary for my neighbours, part time salary for the drivers. Later I would be able to become representative of local population at town council, and later may be even the major of the town.

Anyway today is my birthday, 25 years, that's 1/4 of a century. So I'm already drunk . Dear grammar Nazi, if I have said something wrong, please don't be too much severe. At the places where I'm from my education allows me to provide legal contracts in both languages: my native and English... Cause most part of the population may say just: Hi! My name is bear. And that's all.
Anyway I repeat: that's my 25th birthday. Just ask yourself, if you were on my place - would you drink or not?

Not at one o'clock in the afternoon, no. I'd probably chill out with family in the day then go socialising later in the afternoon and night - which may indeed involve alcohol.

Besides during two weeks I have read, read and read, different interesting science things, in both languages. My main problem as my leading professor says that sometimes I leave science style and start to write novels. In reality, after several hours of science I already have problems with my concentration.
    Anyway when I have examined 30 external students, I always was attentive: 13 A, 12 B and only 5 C.
One chap for example laughed during last lections he've visited, after he had knew about my age. He couldn't answer on several questions at exam (so as he came only on last lection), but so as he knew what was his coursework about I gave him B. So now he tells everywhere about me and all he has to say is only good.
Anyway so as I don't know in details about your marks system, I'll say so, at my country: excellent is the highest mark, second mark is well, third mark sounds as "so-so" . When you didn't get any - you didn't pass exam. So when I've examined the students - 13 of 30 got highest marks, and all the students have passed the exam. If the person does it best to study but different things don't allow to study well, that's not the fault of the person.

realistically, id probably put it into savings.

but i want to use my savings on travelling so i would do that... take my mum on holiday and then go away with mates. japan, US, bit of europe, new zealand/aus... and then end the trip with hawaii.

    that would be amazeballs

edit: i think i overestimated how much i could travel with 5k. lolz :p:

Splurge: £1000 on bits and bobs (New laptop, clothes, other junk/gadgets)
Invest: £1000 towards a business or two.
Save: £3000 in premium bonds (where I keep all my savings) to put away for future plans: travelling/property etc

I'd put it in one of my savings accounts. Hopefully one day that will contribute to my first car or even the car I ideally would like
