Hey guys, I am stuck between choosing either the University of Essex or the Jacobs University of Bremen..

    Essex-MA Politics, 1 year ($16,000 U.S.)
    Pros-1 year program, strong department
Cons-no guarantee for a continuation onto a PHD. Expensive.

Jacobs University Bremen- MA International Relations, 2 years (Free, no tuition fee)
Pros- no tuition, prospect of learning German, cheap rent/living. Ability to continue on pursuing a PHD here.
Cons-2 year program instead of 1 year. Skeptical about living in the same city for 4-5 years.

Any advice on which I should choose is highly appreciated!
Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
