# Binomial Expansion Question watch

1. Hey people, so the question says:

Expand (1 - 2x)^4 in ascending powers of x, simplifying the coefficients.

It's a 5 mark question, and I was wondering if there is an easier way to answer this question than to multiply it all out? Thanks!
2. Use the formula for binomial expansion...

divide it into two squared brackets then expand each bracket using the rule: (a-b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab + b^2. Then multiply the resulting expressions.

That's the only way I can see it done without using the binomial expansion.

Also, you could use Pascal's triangle.

Awesome, thanks a lot
6. Binomail expansion is really the fastest way to work it out, you will have to expand it out otherwise, sorry
