the whole uni is one campus so I'm sure it doesn't matter which end you arrive as it takes a few minutes to get to the other end

I went on the viewing day and it seems like the majority of the arts/technology students are in Leodis blocks as thats closer to the top end of the uni.

Oh thank you very much. I was just about to ask questions on the Leodis hall. Is it nice? that is, if you got to see inside. Because my decision is between The Tannery, Leodis and James Bailie Park. But mainly stuck between Leodis and The Tannery. Thanks

Yeah I had a textiles student take me around the place and she showed me her room, not a bad size at all (although her doorway was taken up by 20 odd pairs of shoes) Looked very clean etc...

En-Suite was a good size, bigger than most of the others thats for sure!

Kitchen was reasonable (this one was abit dirty but thats to be expected of students really, they will all be cleaned before the new academic year) got a shelf in both the fridge and freezer and your own cupboard for food and stuff, thats how they arranged it anyway. If people borrowed food they left each other notes saying what they borrowed and theyd go to the shop to replace whatever which is good. (Some accommodation do have locks on the doors though)

Common room was a good size, again pretty clean, Free pool table and Sky on a widescreen TV with plenty of sofas and a couple of vending machines (I think if i remember correctly)

All in all a good set of rooms, I just didnt like the area as you have a hill to contend with to get up to the Uni and its near alot of terraced back to backs (though you can dodge these nicely walking from the Uni I just had a little look around the area). Obviously favoured mostly by the women there due to ALL the rooms being En-Suite, all seemed very friendly and welcoming though!

    Hope this helps

I've applied for the tannery after seeing it on the open day, initially was gonna go for James Baillie Park but the location was kinda random and the tannery location seemed perfect, free bus to city centre running every half hour, shop on site, ensuites nice, nice and clean, really nice atmosphere. also near other accommodations so i can imagine it will be rammed with students making it impossible to make friends.
    tannerys a winner for me!

at the moment its actually about every 5 mins (at most)

Will have to see what the cut backs bring as there all about to start being the end of the tax year etc... I think there was mention of them going to try and keep it though. We'll have to see

It hasn't been stopped but it's no longer free:

They're going to charge 50p per journey now (or free with a valid pass ofc), which is still pretty cheap.

It says "every few minutes between 6.30 am - 7.30pm" but have no idea what their version of "every few minutes" is... sounds like it would be pretty regular though. And I guess there'd be other buses for after 7.30, so not the same problem as CD.

that's really good tbh, it's every 20mins from CD. Tannery's walking distance to town uni and LGI, win
