I have just completed an FdA in Music and Events Management at City University, London and want to complete a final top-up year in Business Management. I have been accepted at London Southbank (which has a bad reputation) for a top up year BSC in Business Management but am also looking at a part time online top up year for a BA in International Business Management at Bournemouth uni.
Bournemouth uni has a much better reputation than London South Bank and from what I can see is quite respected in the feild of business and the modules are exactly the same as they are on the full time 'attended' course, the only difference is I guess that you don't have the lectures and the uni lifestyle.
I'm 24 now so really am just looking to get the qualification as aposed to the uni experience. I want to continue working in London whilst i'm doing it so that when I graduate i'll have gained another years worth of valuable work experience plus the degree.
Has anybody done an online top-up year course? Did you find that you missed out on learning as much as you could have because of the lack of lectures etc?
Or in general, what are peoples thoughts on this particular mode of study?
