infrared spectrum of dimethyl sulphoxide and chlorhexidine watch

    what is the absorption peak that can be seen for a c-s bond and a s=0 bond as both occur in dimethyl sulphoxide and I cant seem to find it in any books. And how do i find the bp monograph for chlorhexidine?

    frequency of stretching mode > bending mode

    from simple harmonic harmotion, frequency is proportional to (1/reduced mass)^1/2
    assuming force constant k remains invariant for most cases

    C-C stretches are around 1500-ish => even that is quite hard to tell, sometimes.
    As S is much heavier than C, reduced mass is predominantly mass of C => higher reduced mass than for C-C => lower frequency than C-C stretch, so lower than 1500 ish.

    as you know, these are fingerprint region and quite hard to interpret.
