I'm seriously thinking about investing in a Barbour classic wax jacket or a quilted coat, but should I go for quilted/wax?!
Or can anyone suggest any alternatives? (£100-£500)
And before people say ''ohhh Barbour, how snobby''...I am a normal person. And I want functionable fashion

Barbour do nice coats. They do many other coats besides the classic styles e.g. macs which are quite affordable and v nice. They're good quality.

Aigle do very functional and quite good looking coats. I get compliments on my jacket all the time and it's so comfortable, super warm and v practical

Jaeger, Aquascutum, MaxMara, Vivienne Westwood also

I have a waxy Barbour and it's amazing. So warm, and utterly windproof, and pretty showerproof too. Just needs coating every now and then.

Aquascutum do some nice quilted coats which could be worth a look.
