I think I had a mild asthma attack last night. I had the standard symptoms, my entire chest felt so tight and felt light someone was sitting on it, it felt like someone was constricting the top half of my trachea and it wasn't so effortless to inhale. I was coughing a lot and when I coughed there was some sort of extended wheeze - you know the sound when heavy smokers force out air rapidly. Then every now again, I'd suddenly find a build up of sputum at the back of my throat.
This was an asthma attack right? I have asthma but I don't take my medication (I know, I know...)
But I had a strange extra symptom that I've never had before and google won't tell me much. It felt like my actual lungs - the organs - were so, so itchy and I developed a rash on all of the skin around my thoracic cage (front and back) and down the sides (like from my armpit downwards/mid axillary line area). It was really weird because my skin was only itchy around that very area - my rib cage.
Can someone tell me the cause?

I'm no medical expert, but I do have asthma..
The first symptoms you listed do sound like an asthma attack.
But the itchy lungs? I've never heard/had that before - definately go see your doctor immediately.. even if Google did suggest what it could be, you still ought to make an appointment.

Technically asthma is an allergic reaction (tho to something non-harmful), so it isn't completely surprising that you could get other symptoms of an allergic reaction. Ask your GP about it if it happens again.
