What self-respecting family doesn't have a pedigree dog? I only wanted a small one FFS. Something that I could carry around and feed and pet. But noooooooooo. That's too ****ing much for them isn't it? All I wanted for my birthday was a dog that I could call Tootsie and take for walks in the park, and all I got was clothes.

    **** the lot of them.

You can carry around and feed great danes.
    It would just be harder

If you really want to look after a dog then go volunteer at a kennels or RSPCA etc.

Tell them you thought Osama Bin Laden had a point about things.

Maybe they will reevaluate their decision.

For my tenth birthday, I wanted a chair. Just any old chair would do. My family was a bunch of chair-hating freaks. They wouldn't get me a chair. Ever. I've always had to sit on the floor to watch tv, do my homework and everything else, for as long as I remember. I had a horrible, chair-deprived childhood. It was terrible. All my friends were laughing at me for having no chair to sit on at home. Not a single one.

So when I left home, I didn't know what a chair was. The first time I saw one, I ran away screaming in tears. I'd contracted chair-withdrawal syndrome. I couldn't remain sane and calm around those animals. But they were EVERYWHERE. EVERYWHERE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I have a Yorkie, and he doesn't do much. He sleeps a lot...
But yeah, wait until you're older. I really want a cat but my parents are 100% against it, so I'll just wait until I have my own home... it's pretty obvious, really.

Why don't you buy it ?
Then it would actually be your responsibility to insure, take it for vet check-ups, walk twice a day, buy food for, clean up their poo.
Dogs are for life, not just for birthdays. Your parents may not want the huge responsibility of doing all those things, because I'm guessing it wouldn't be you doing them.

You would have thought trolls would get better over time, but....

Clothes are practical, dogs just bark and poop.

Your family thought rationally. You shoud pat them on the back.

    It's just a friggin' dog.

Judging by the level of maturity OP displayed, if she ever got one, I'd recommend mercy killing.

And dearie, it's rude to diss other people's parents.
